In his encyclical letter, Laudato Si, Pope Francis teaches us how important it is for us to care for God’s creation. This month at BT, we will do our part by planting 27 new shrubs and trees across both campuses, and committing to the care of the new landscape. This is an exciting way to give back to our parishes, refresh the property, and protect the future of our tree canopy for generations to come.
This project is all made possible by Tree Trust and our project sponsor, CenterPoint Energy. Tree Trust is a local non-profit organization who will provide ALL staff leadership, planting supplies, and the trees & shrubs FREE of charge to our school! Tree Trust will also bring a valuable educational exhibit to BT for all students to interact with, and learn about the importance of our community trees.
The help of families is very much needed to make this effort a success. During Serv-a-thon, on October 17th and 18th, students will be planting the shrubs and trees at each campus! Join us for these busy and exciting planting days by volunteering to supervise students here. Instruction will be provided, no prior skills required!
Please demonstrate your support by volunteering to water our new shrubs and trees through October, and again in the 2023 growing season. BT Families will be responsible for watering all plantings in the year ahead, which is critical to the project success. More information about the watering process and a link to sign-up will be coming soon.

Siembra del día del Serv-a-thon
En su carta encíclica, Laudato Si, el Papa Francisco nos enseña cuán importante es para nosotros cuidar la creación de Dios. Este mes en BT, haremos nuestra parte plantando 27 nuevos arbustos y árboles en ambos campus y comprometiéndonos a cuidar el nuevo paisaje. Esta es una forma emocionante de retribuir a nuestras parroquias, refrescar la propiedad y proteger el futuro de nuestros árboles para las generaciones venideras.
Este proyecto es posible gracias a Tree Trust y nuestro patrocinador del proyecto, CenterPoint Energy. Tree Trust es una organización local sin fines de lucro que proporcionará a TODOS los líderes del personal, suministros, árboles y arbustos para plantar. ¡GRATIS a nuestra escuela! Tree Trust también traerá una valiosa exhibición educativa a BT para que todos los estudiantes interactúen y aprendan sobre la importancia de los árboles de nuestra comunidad.
